Connections & Distribution Services

Vital Power provides an electricity connections service for clients across the UK. In order to undertake this work it is necessary to hold accreditation from the Lloyds National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS). The scheme is part of the process to introduce competition into the electricity services market and is recognised by all the UK DNOs.

Vital Power infastructure support services have approval to carry out, Cable Laying, Civil Works, Cable Jointing, Overhead Line Pole work and 11kv Substation work. We have completed connections work on networks that have subsequently been adopted by the local DNO and projects that have remained in the control of the responsible IDNO.  

Our service offer includes a full installation package including cable laying, installation of internal rising and lateral mains, cable jointing, service installation, substation and switchgear installation, testing, commissioning, ongoing maintenance and emergency call out coverage.

Metering Services

Vital Power infastructure support services undertake a wide range of Electricity Metering throughout the UK.

Our service includes the installation of single and three phase whole current and CT metering in both domestic/industrial and commercial premises. We are also currently carrying out a number of contracts to install smart metering in the Sub 100 market.

In addition to the work undertaken for MOPS and DNO’s we also carry out sub-metering on behalf of clients and can include the installation of sub-mains wiring and associated isolation equipment.

We have a fully trained and authorised work force and provide national coverage for the installation and maintenance of metering. Our scheduling and administration is managed from our main office in Liverpool with support from our other depots.

With two training centres we are well equipped to provide further trained operatives to keep pace with growth.

Rail & Underground Services

Vital Power has a division dedicated to the Rail industry. The primary function of the division is to support London Underground and Network Rail in their project and re-active works.

Based in Stratford we employ a team of highly experienced people whose main focus is power systems, HV distribution through to DC traction power and signalling.

Vital Power has a competent project management team able to plan, procure and deliver a quality job on time, on budget. We employ permanent trade / engineering skills in house to deliver any Power project within the rail infrastructure.

This means Vital can provide a complete solution including the supply of our own safety critical staff. Vital Power is a Link Up accredited company as well as an approved contractor for London Underground Limited.

Substation & Switchgear Services

Vital Power supports some of the World’s leading switchgear manufacturers, helping deliver installation and maintenance solutions to their clients, across the Power Transmission & Distribution, Power Generation, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Health and Retail sectors.

We offer a complete package, including Project and Site Management supporting our site teams to deliver Turnkey Packages throughout voltage ranges up to 400 KV.

In addition to our switchgear offering we provide a cable installation service which includes the installation of multicore cabling for protection & control and power cabling up to 33 KV. With the support of our sister company Vital Technology, we can offer bespoke PLC and SCADA packages.

We have a proven record of consistently high quality worldwide. We receive regular commendation for the levels of communication and the quality of workmanship which we achieve, often in difficult environments.
